Testimonials

Below are some examples of how others have enjoyed our trips.

If you also want to be introduced to outback Australian without the drudgery of long coach trips or jetting over interesting sites AWT will take you there in speed and comfort. The scale and immensity of Australia still amazes, but you have easy access as you move quickly and comfortably from one focus to another.

"Thank you for one of the best trips of my life! " Deon

From New Hampshire

" To say we miss you and Australia would be an understatement. For all four of us, our weeks downunder (and especially the days we spent with you) remain vivid and foremost in our thoughts. Our son says he can't stop thinking about Australia and the great people he met.

Mostly the weather has been wet, icy, dreary and warmer than normal for January. How I miss the long days and baking sun of the outback. In retrospect, George, the places you took us were so remarkable. To touch 40,000 year old campsites at Mungo Lake and swim at the McFarlands' homestead were experiences we'll never forget. But just as memorable were the conversations we had with you over the three days we spent together and the fun and silly moments we shared." Rebecca and Bill.

"We have been looking again at the map of our voyage extraordinaire and having withdrawal symptoms. I keep sitting down and wafting off into the dream time, wondering which highlight to drift into. It was certainly more than a wonderful trip and only the use of superlatives could capture the highlights.

It was both a discovery and an adventure, informative, educational and arty, but overall linked by a great sense of fun due to the nature of the team. I feel very strongly that I'm so much more in touch with my country and enriched by the experiences we have shared. To witness the age, the majesty, the beauty of the land, together with its perplexing problems and hardships, has opened a new understanding for me and a desire to spread my experiences to those with close minds. I know so much more about what we have imposed upon the land, its natural vagaries and the complexity of the relationship with Aboriginal people.

George your excellent flying skills and care of us makes you legendary. My husband Richard joins me with special thanks." - Neroli

Dear George

We are writing just to say thank you for the recent trip we took with you out West - so well organised, diverse and packed with interest. Just a few highlights:

- the vastness of the western plains,
- the relaxed culture of the people,
- the sand dunes of Lake Mungo,
- the skeleton 20,000 years or so of the hairy nosed wombat,
- the magnificent Red River Gums,
- the amazing underground motel, and
- the silence.

To me the root systems of the bushes are the epitome of the will to survive in such harsh conditions.

So many more memories all add up to a superb experience.

Many thanks George for a wonderful trip.

Regards

John and Pam

Dear George

Our sincere thanks for a great weekend on your Australian Flight Seeing Tour. We enjoyed visiting new places, especially the outback, the Walls of China, Menindee lakes and White cliffs- all very interesting and seeing it in three days - fantastic.

The weather was kind to us, flying very comfortable and the company - well they are our group and we know them well. All combined to make a very enjoyable informative short break.

Please convey our thanks to the very capable and talented pilot in the second aircraft. I do hope we can join another one of your Tours in the future.

Once again many thanks

Brian and Bev

Dear George

I feel compelled to tell you how satisfying I found our 3 day weekend to Haddon Rig, White Cliffs Menindee and Mungo. It might sound corny but it was good just to know that the clouds of Magellan are still out there.

Seeing the kangaroos and emus wandering through the town of White cliffs made me feel good. The lad on his trail bike shepherding home the goat 'cutlets' through the low scrub just on dark for dinner was a fascinating insight into life in the outback.

Leon's underground motel was an inspiration.

Haddon Rig, Menindee and the Darling River were great but Mungo was very special. We appreciated the Aboriginal guide and in particular his didgeridoo music. If he ever makes a tape or CD I want one.

Thanks for letting the ride alongside on the flight; it must have been just what I needed.

It goes without saying that Helen and I would love to tackle those other trips that you have suggested and some day soon we will.

Dear George

I don't know what I expected that this wasn't it. I never get excited looking forward to things any more; too many unexpected or improbable things can happen at my age. But this trip has changed that it was such great fun. I felt privileged to actually be part of it.

The whole trip was managed so expertly that neither Miranda nor I had any qualms. I have traveled extensively in the outback mainly coach camping, bush camps where one certainly sees a lot but it takes a long time and you don't get the same feeling for the size of the country as you do from the air.

The accommodation was great. Sleeping underground gives one a buzz if one thinks about it but it doesn't really was not that different. We enjoyed the tour of White cliffs including the arts and crafts display. I would have appreciated a little more time to look at opals and possibly purchase some. Perhaps next time there would be a greater range available.

Anyway it was a great trip and the company was congenial. Thank you for planning it so well and running it says smoothly

Dear George,

Thank you for your masterly, low key but firm leadership of our Penrith group. It was an extraordinary experience to see and do so much in a short time.

There were many highlights but I shall never forget Graham, the Aboriginal guide at Lake Mungo, unsanding the skeletal remains of the hairy nosed wombat, 18000 years old. A humbling sensation that puts our puny lives into a proper perspective in the universe.

Fellowship at dinner was a nice contrast to the activities of the day and much enjoyed. We had the advantage of being old friends.

We have every intention of travelling with you again and thank you for making it all possible.

Yours sincerely,

Barbara and Kerr

Dear George,

A note to thank you for our recent three day trip to Mungo, Kinchega, White Cliffs and Warren.

The itinerary was well planned showing a diversity of land use from irrigation, lush pasture to barren and scrub. The flights were very comfortable and the timing and content of the land portion very efficient and informative. It was good to be able to ask questions of you as much of this area is foreign to our group. A highlight was the overnight stay underground at White Cliffs.

I speak for our group when I say we all had a relaxed and enjoyable time and we look forward to travelling with you again in the near future.

Kind regards,

Albert and Merle
